National Night Out will be held Tuesday, August 5 from 6:30-10 p.m at the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department located at 495 River Road.
Since 1984, this national event is meant to increase awareness about our police and other local community programs such as drug prevention and other anti-crime efforts.
Fire Department members will supply music, grills and soda. As always there will be a special appearance by McGruff, the Crime Dog. This family fun event truly lets people get a chance to interact with their neighbors, local volunteers and it gives the children a chance to explore the Fire House, check out the fire trucks and try on the gear that the firemen use to protect themselves when they respond to our communities calls.
Kids love it and it gives parents a chance to take a break. Everyone is welcome to come at no cost.
Be sure to bring a favorite food to put on the grill. But don’t worry, there will certainly be extra food available at no cost.
